Fly Control

Whether it’s a residential kitchen or a commercial food business, flies are more than a nuisance—they are a sign of underlying hygiene issues and can carry bacteria. Fermentation flies, in particular, are attracted to ripening fruit, drains, and fermenting liquids. At Repel Pest Solutions, we provide targeted solutions to find the breeding source and eliminate the population at its core.

Signs You Have a Fermentation Fly Infestation

These tiny flies (3–4mm) are often mistaken for common gnats. If you notice these signs, you likely have a breeding site on your property:

Small Flies Hovering Near Organic Matter

The most obvious sign is seeing tiny, brownish flies hovering around fruit bowls, indoor plants, or rubbish bins. They are particularly attracted to "fermenting" items like overripe bananas, open wine bottles, or damp mops.

Activity Around Drains and Sinks

Fermentation flies often breed in the "sludge" that builds up inside kitchen and floor drains. If you see flies emerging from your sink or floor wastes in the laundry or commercial kitchen, you have an active breeding site.

Presence of "Crawling" Larvae

Before they fly, they are tiny, pale, maggot-like larvae. You may find them crawling on the underside of bin lids, near the seals of refrigerators, or in the grout lines of damp kitchen floors.

Persistent Problems Despite Surface Cleaning

If you are cleaning your surfaces daily but the flies remain, it means they are breeding in a "hidden" source—such as a leaking pipe under a cupboard, a dirty floor track, or inside a forgotten bag of potatoes in the pantry.

Our Targeted Fly Control Strategy

Spraying the air only kills the adults. Our professional approach focuses on Source Reduction.

Bio-Enzymatic Drain Treatments

For fermentation flies, we use professional-grade foams and enzymes that eat away the organic "biofilm" where they breed.

01

Adulticide Applications

We apply safe, targeted residual treatments to resting surfaces and use UV light traps or pheromone baits to capture remaining adults.

02

Prevention Planning

We provide a detailed report on "structural fixes"—like sealing gaps or improving drainage—to ensure the flies don't return.
